General Phase Information


    • Read every night to an adult, please write in the contact book when you have heard your child read.
      • Reading books will be checked every day and changed as required. 
    • Please ensure reading books are in school every day so that your child has the opportunity to read in school to an adult.

Contact Books

    • To be brought into school every day.
    • Messages from you to us and us to you.
    • Please sign any messages that we have written to show that you have seen them!
    • If you have written a message please ask your child to show it to us!
    • Books will be checked daily. Please encourage your child to hand them in first thing in the morning.
    • Please write in the contact book when you have heard your child read.

P.E. Kit

    • Please ensure your child has the correct P.E. kit in school.
      • These will be sent home at the end of each half term.
    • Blue P.E. t-shirt, blue or black shorts, plimsolls or trainers for outside, bare feet or plimsolls for inside.
    • Tracksuits or sweatshirts may be worn when cold.
      • Preferably blue or black. 
      • No Hooded jumpers for Health and Safety reasons.
    • Long hair should be tied back, no jewellery and no earrings.
    • A note from parents/guardians is required to excuse your child from P.E.


    • The children are provided with all the equipment that is needed in school.
    • Your child may bring a named water bottle to school every day.

Ways to help your child at home

    • Times Table practice (Year 2)
    • Regular reading
    • Learning phonic phonemes
    • Ensuring homework is completed and handed in
    • Visits to library to research topics
    • Visit places of interest!
