General Phase Information

Reading

    • Read regularly to an adult, please write in the contact book when you have heard your child read.
    • Please ensure reading books are in school every day so your child has the opportunity to read in school to an adult.

Spelling

    • Spellings/Phonics – Children are grouped within their class.
    • There will be weekly spellings, set on a Friday.

Contact Books

    • To be brought into school every day.
    • Messages from you to us and us to you.
    • Please sign any messages that we have written to show that you have seen them!
    • If you have written a message please ask your child to show it to us!
    • Please write in the contact book at least twice a week showing that your child has read to an adult, and sign it.

P.E. Kit

    • Please ensure your child has the correct P.E. kit in school.
      • These will be sent home at the end of each half term.
    • Blue P.E. t-shirt, blue or black shorts, plimsolls or trainers for outside, bare feet or plimsolls for inside.
    • Tracksuits or sweatshirts may be worn when cold.
      • Preferably blue or black. 
      • No Hooded jumpers for Health and Safety reasons.
    • Long hair should be tied back, no jewellery and no earrings.
    • A note from parents/guardians is required to excuse your child from P.E.

Equipment

    • The children are provided with all the equipment that is needed in school.
    • Your child may bring a named water bottle to school every day.
    • Please make sure your child has a hat and has sun cream applied in hot weather.

    • Ensuring homework is completed and handed in
    • Visits to library to research topics
    • Visit places of interest
