Sport
The sports profile at Staplehurst School has been raised in recent years. Last year we were invited along to the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Sports Awards. This was a first for Staplehurst and we were awarded a certificate of excellence for being the Most Improved School for the Year for outstanding development in PE, Physical Activity and School Sport. Three of our children were also nominated for Best Sportsperson of the Year and came away a commendation for which we are very proud.
Our 2018-19 sports role of honour is as follows:
Tunbridge Wells Champions
KS1 – Infant Agility
KS2 – Basketball, Sports Hall Athletics, High 5 Netball, Kwik Cricket
Represented the Partnership in the Kent Finals for Basketball (finishing 4th) and Kwik Cricket (finishing 10th).
Dulwich Champions - Year 6 Football
Maidstone League Champions – 7 A Side Netball
We were also:
Runners Up in the Year 6 Kwik Sticks Hockey
Runners Up in the Years 3 / 4 Tri Golf
Maidstone Football League Quarterfinalists
Fifth in the Tunbridge Wells gymnastic competition

Finally, we gave Outstanding Contribution to Sport awards to Tom P, Sophie C and Izzy F. These three individuals were there at every training session and represented the school across the whole range of disciplines. They should be extremely proud of their achievements and we fully expect them to be competing at county, or even national, level in the future.
